Murder VS False Evidence <Part 2>

Most Western countries are Christian countries.

Perhaps that is why, in Christian countries, including the United States, punishment for false acts such as

false evidence, perjury, and fabrication of false documents is very strong.

On the other hand, under the laws of the Republic of Korea, punishment for crimes such as perjury or

false testimony is very lenient.

Is that why? In the West, lying is a very serious sin. Even in the lives of ordinary people, if a person has lied once,

he or she will not be trusted at work, among neighbors, or among friends.

If someone is caught lying, they may be able to get over the moment, but after that, trust in that person will hit rock bottom,

causing a huge disruption in their social life.

We see this situation playing out even more strongly in court.

If you are caught committing perjury in a court of Western countries, you can be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.

Even if a person dies due to perjury, he or she will receive the same punishment as a murderer, and can even be

sentenced to death or life imprisonment.

This is the punishment for false evidence such as perjury in Western countries.

However, according to what I have researched, the law in Korea generally imposes a prison sentence of up to

5 years or a fine of up to about $7,300.

Although legal interpretation may be needed to determine how it is applied in very special cases,

it can be seen that the punishment is comparatively very light and weak.

I think that's probably why. There are so many lies in Korean society.

I feel like lying has become a part of our daily life.

Lies appear frequently in conversations among the general public.

And it doesn't affect social life in any way.

I feel like most small lies are understood and acknowledged.

Also, what is surprising is that public figures lie very easily through broadcasts or the media.

Politicians' lies are so common that they don't even need to be mentioned.

Perhaps that is why fraud cases occur continuously and frequently in our society.

We can see that not only are there problems with those who commit fraud, but there are also problems with those

who have been scammed.

This is because there are many cases where people were scammed because they participated in the hope of

making false profits.

Although they did not commit fraud, they harbored vain greed in their hearts and hoped for an abnormal amount of profit,

so they fell for the obvious tricks of fraudsters.
