Q: Why did the Korean New Hope church expel and excommunicate Mr. and Mrs. Chun on Oct. 23, 2022?
A: Mr. Chun was involved in Probate Case 21-209314-GA in which he did the wrongdoings to the female church member who showed early symptoms of dementia after her spouse was deceased.
See the court findings in the case for his wrongdoings below.
11. Facts before this Court indicate that Tae Kun Chun attempted to withdraw $400,000 from Ms. Drotleff's account at Northpointe Bank on July 15,2021.
12. Facts before this Court indicate that Tae Kun Chun attempted to impersonate Ms. Drotleff's deceased husband for the purpose of gaining access to her accounts.
13. Facts before this Court also indicate that Tae Kun Chun brought Ms. Drotleff to Northpointe Bank on July 16,2021 and sent her into the branch to withdraw $420,000 while he waited in the car; an act thwarted by an astute teller.
15. Upon information and belief, when the Will and Trust were executed on March 5,2021, Ms. Drotleff was vulnerable and
being exploited by Tae Kun Chun and other members of the Korean New Hope Assembly of God Church.
Q: Can a few church members for example 3 members of the Korean New Hope church remove the pastor sent by the Korean District Council?
A: Absolutely NOT. The Korean District Council clearly specified this at the following Authoritative Interpretation of the Constitution and Bylaws of Assemblies of God Korean District.
In conclusion, based on the contents of Bylaws Section 3 above, churches with less than 20 members have the right to receive help from the Assemblies of God Korean District, and the members (congregation) have the duty to be supervised on the overall church administration. Therefore, it is confirmed that only the Assemblies of God Korean District has the authority to dismiss the pastor, and that church members with fewer than 20 (the above church said that the decision was made by 3 members at the time) do not have this authority.
The Assemblies of God Korean District dispatched Pastor Yang as the senior pastor of Goback Church (formerly the Korean New Hope Church) on April 17, 2022. As long as he continues to serve, he will be designated as the senior pastor of Goback Church (formerly the Korean New Hope Church).
Q: Did the Korean New Hope church make a hire contract with Pastor Yang before he came to the church?
A: No. Instead Pastor Yang was appointed and dispatched by the Korean District Council.
